The Annual General Meeting

The AGM this year is on the 24th of February 2016, where we will be holding the EUYSRA elections for the non-department head committee members of 2016/2017 (for details on department head elections see bottom). Please read to completion for full details on the AGM and additional elections.

The available positions are as follows:
President
Secretary and Head of Research
Treasurer
Social Secretary
IT-Director
Head of Company Relations
Chairman

If you are interested in running for any of these 7 positions then you must officially register your interest by sending email between February 15th and 21st February 9 pm to the euysra gmail account – euysra@gmail.com.

You may register your interest in as many of the above positions as you please. One individual can only hold one position within the society, therefore as soon as you are elected to a position this is the position you will have for the following year (the order of the election process begins with the president and descending as shown above). Each candidate should prepare a 1 minute speech for their position of interest with the candidates for the position of President being allowed up to 2 minutes.

The society does not allow for people to run as a group for a single position with the exception of the Social Secretary and IT-Director positions (i.e. two people can run together for these posts).

Conditions for Candidates: Candidates must be fully paid current members of the society and must have been members for at least one semester. No members joining this year after this post is made will be allowed to run for the positions.

Conditions for Attending: All attending this meeting must also be fully paid members to be allowed a vote.

A simple majority by a show of hands will determine the victor for all positions.

Department Head Elections:
The Department Head Elections will be held independently within each department between the AGM and the following Wednesday (March 25th 2016) and will be organized by the current head.

Departments include: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, IT, Medicine, Physics, Mathematics and Psychology.

Candidates must not officially register their interest for the department head elections. The “Conditions for Candidates” and the “Conditions for Attending” are the same as for the AGM.

The details of all the Roles each position includes are found in the Constitution on the EUSA website.

NB: The newly elected committee will not become the official committee of EUYSRA until the last meeting of the academic year, and will therefore spend the remainder of the this semester (i.e. a hand over period) shadowing the current position holders and as such the new team can begin making their own plans for the future.

We look forward to receiving your registrations for the AGM elections, and look forward to being able to see who will be the leaders of the society from next year.
