Awards and Honours
EUYSRA strives for creating a community which fosters an extensive network of support for independent innovation in scientific research and sharing of knowledge and experience.
This mission has led to multiple honours and recognitions for the society by local, national, and international bodies.





NUS Scotland 2013
Winner of the "Best Society or Club of the Year"
In just under one and a half year, on March 16, 2013, EUYSRA was final round shortlisted among 4 societies from across Scotland at the award ceremony in Dundee and managed to win the award, thereby recognizing EUYSRA as the officially best society in Scotland of 2013.

EUSA Oscars 2012/2013
Runner up for the "Best Society of the Year"
As one of 4 societies, EUYSRA was final round nominated at the EUSA Oscars which took place on March 23rd, 2013.

EUSA Oscars 2011/2012
Winner of the "Best New Society of the Year"
Although EUYSRA only launched in January 2012, it was quickly recognized for the opportunities that it provides for members by not only students and academic staff, but also the EUSA. So for the innovative and original approach to student societies EUYSRA were shortlisted to the EUSA annual Societies Oscars (as the only academic society) and at the event (Saturday, March 24th).

NUS UK 2013
Runner up for the "Best Society or Club of the Year"
Having won the award for the best in Scotland, EUYSRA was put through for final round shortlisting as one of three societies from around the UK. EUYSRA became the runner up at the NUS UK award ceremony in Manchester on July 3rd, 2013.

Individual Recognition:
Winner of the "Society Star Award"
The Society Star Award is an award which is presented to an individual who in the eyes of the members of a society and EUSA has committed an outstanding contribution to their society and been a driving force behind its success.
President Nicholas Groth Merrild was awarded the Society Star at the annual award ceremony on March 22nd, 2014.
EUSA Annual Awards 2013/2014

For the second year running EUYSRA was nominated for the award, as one of 3 societies. The award ceremony took place in Teviot, Edinburgh, on March 22nd, 2014, where EUYSRA was announced as the Best Society of the Year.

Winner of the "Best Society or Club of the Year"
For the second year running EUYSRA was final round nominated for the NUS Scotland Award. EUYSRA was announced the winner at the award ceremony in Dundee on March 22nd, 2014, the first society in history to win this award consequtively.
Award handed over to President Nicholas Groth Merrild by a EUSA representative at the EUYSRA Students Interdisciplinary Conference in Teviot, Edinburgh, on March 28th, 2014.

President Mohammad Ubaidullah Hassan Qureshi was awarded the Society Star at the annual award ceremony on March 24th, 2015.
