Position Details:

The President shall oversee the running of the society and is ultimately responsible for all actions within the society i.e. the conduct in the society. The president must also represent the society in external meetings (as required) and must attend all main meetings, board meetings, committee meetings, and general group meetings (chairing all of these meetings).

 

Personal Details:

I am 23 years old and originally from Denmark but have spent the majority of my life living abroad in other European countries (Sweden, Austria, France, Switzerland and Germany) before coming to Edinburgh for University in 2009. In 2003 (when I was 13), I won the First Prize at the “Science and Engineering Fair” hosted by the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) and the American Nuclear Society (ANS) in Vienna, Austria, which encouraged and inspired me to pursue a degree in Engineering.

 

When I came to university I quickly found that there were very limited opportunities for undergraduate research projects independent of my degree and was frankly disappointed that I was becoming tunnel visioned to my degree exclusively. So having friends of similar opinions and desires, I asked them to join me in the starting of EUYSRA, so that we could build a society which accommodated our scientific curiosities and one inwhich to explore and experience the larger scientific community.
