Personal Details:

Edinburgh is a fantastic place to study Physics and this society makes it even better! I am 21 years old and came to do my whole degree here in Edinburgh. Not that there are no good universities at home but since I always wanted a career in research, it was important to get an international background and Edinburgh seemed perfect with its great reputation. Although I am planning to do my future work in theoretical Physics, it is important not to forget about the experimental side of Physics, which is the only way to proof any theory. During our degree we get the necessary background to become a broad-based Physicist so there is not much space for our own experiments. It is still important to learn to think independently and EUYSRA gives the opportunity for that. Being the head of the Physics Department for this year I hope we can get some interesting projects started. I was a team member of one of the society’s Physics projects from last year and can say that it is great fun and a brilliant opportunity. If I am not studying I enjoy reading books, cooking and doing lots of different sports.
