Head of the Chemistry Department

Position Details:

It is the duty of the department head to help individuals or groups to formulate their idea for a research proposition by helping them prepare their presentation to be given to the society, all done within the department meeting which the head will chair and organize. It is also the department heads responsibility to assist any members of his/her department to prepare any presentation which that member wishes to give to the society. The department head is the one who brings forward the research proposals to the Head of Research who in turn informs the secretary of all research applications.

Personal Details:

I am 20 years. I was born and raised in a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea called Cyprus! Part of my extracurricular activities during high school included, participating in the Euroscola Conference, in October 2010, as an ambassador for my country, which took place at the European Parliament, in Strasburg and I volunteered twice a week at a foster home for abused and abandoned children, as part of my Service Activity for my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. I love travelling, cooking, playing the piano and last but not least inspiring an interest in Chemistry to anyone who will listen. What encouraged me to join EUYSRA was, the unique opportunities that it has to offer in pursuing and developing original and independent research, through working as member of team consisting of people of similar academic backgrounds, thereby allowing valuable skills and appreciations for scientific research to be gained.
